The MoU between Saitama University, Japan, and the University of Ruhuna was renewed in June 2023.
Under this MoU, the Coordinator of the MoU of Saitama University, Prof. Takeshi Fujino visited the
University of Ruhuna on 03rd and 4th November 2023. |
AGREEMENT OF COOPERATION BETWEEN NORD UNIVERSITY NORWAY AND UNIVERSITY OF RUHUNA - 2019 | ||
Faculty of FMST is a co-partner of the agreement signed in 2019, and the objective of this agreement is to foster academic exchange and research collaboration between Nord University and Faculty, while offering course module to visiting graduate students. NOR-LANKA BLUE project will continue until 2023 and is funded by NORPART partnership project (UiT, UoR, UoJ, & NARA) led by Prof. Jorge Santos at UiT. Team of researchers visited Sri Lanka for the project inception and also as resource persons for the residential workshops which were held in University of Jaffna in 2019 and NIFATI, Kalawewa in 2020, organized by the project partners. Additionally, Prof. Svein Ottar Olsen and Prof. Yajie Liu conducted seminars for the UoR students at the Faculty of Agriculture, Science and FMST during their visit. |
MoU BETWEEN COLLEGE OF MARINE SCIENCES NATIONAL SUN YAT-SEN UNVERISTY, TAIWAN AND FACULTY OF FISHERIES AND MARINE SECIENCES & TECHNOLOGY UNIVERSITY OF RUHUNA, SRI LANKA - 2018 | ||
The aim of this MoU singed in 2018 is promoting bilateral scientific and academic research collaboration and cooperation between Taiwan and Sri Lanka. As an initiation, several students of the Faculty received full scholarships to pursue their postgraduate studies (both PhD and MSc) at National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan. Further, National Sun Yat-sen University sponsored to establish and develop TAIWAN and SRI LANKA Marine Research Station (TSMRS) at University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka |
MEMORANDUM OF SUBSIDIARY ARRANGEMENT BETWEEN GOVERNMENT OF AUSTRALIA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE DEMOCRATIC SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF SRI LANKA - 2017 | ||
This agreement was established in 2017 to improve productivity, efficiency, and sustainability of the culture-based fishery for finfish and giant freshwater Prawn in Sri Lankan reservoirs. Partner institutes of the agreement include NAQDA, UOR, WUSL, James Cook University AND the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR). |
MoU BETWEEN SOUTH CHINA SEA INSTITUTE OF OCEANOLOGY (SCSIO), CHINESE ACADEMY OF SCIENCES AND UNIVERSITY OF RUHUNA - 2015 | ||
The aim of this Mou was to establish joint master degree programme and enhance Marine research. The Joint MSc Programme has been implemented since 2015, while the first batch of students completed their MSc in 2019. Thereafter, thirteen students were selected for the MSc programme in 2017 and 2018. In addition to offer postgraduate studies, two research laboratories were fabricated for the Faculty with sophisticated instruments to develop research facilities at the Faculty. Further, this collaboration supported to publish a number of research articles in reputed scientific journals. |
